Training

Question:  Does training provide a return on investment?

Training your workers costs time and money.  We get that. Have you asked yourself what is the cost of not training your workers?

Untrained workers are…
And your is cost is…
Less efficient Less productive team
Less effective More errors in your work
Unhappy in their jobs Higher employee turnover
Not serving your customer Upset customers leave you AND comment on social media
Difficult to promote When you lose your top players, you’ll have a shallow bench to replace them
Are less innovative Fewer improvements to your products, processes, and outcomes
Less flexible Inability to move workers into new roles to fill skill gaps in your team

Beyond that, California law now mandates employee training in certain areas:

  • Employers with 5 or more employees must provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees (even nonsupervisory employees) by January 1, 2020.
  • Hotel and motel operators must provide training on human trafficking awareness.
  • Employers need to develop an anti-harassment policy that includes a complaint procedure.
  • Talent agencies are required to provide sexual harassment training and educational materials.
